Hall sensor defect and angle sensor replacement
Hall sensor defect and angle sensor replacement

The traditional non-contact angular position sensor based on the single element linear Hall chip has the advantages of no contact, no electrical noise, long service life, fast response speed, and high resolution. It is widely used in practice. However, the traditional Hall angle sensor also has its own shortcomings that it cannot overcome. For example, 1) it is greatly affected by the working magnetic field strength and power supply voltage, and requires a lot of work for this; 2) the output signal is greatly affected by the magnetic field strength and the gain sensitivity of the IC; 3) The most important point, because there is only one sensing axis, there is a theoretical maximum angle limit of 180°. 4) The temperature coefficient of the Hall sensor is relatively large. Moreover, the resolver is the most sensor capable of 360-degree angle detection on the market. But the cost of resolver is too high [29]. Therefore, in the domestic market, a mid-range angle sensor that can achieve 360-degree angle measurement and has a lower cost has a very broad market prospect.
