Today’s article, let’s talk about the terminal definition of the control unit CU240E-2 of Siemens G120 inverter

The appearance of CU240E-2 is shown in the figure below:

According to the different communication interfaces and whether the fail-safe function is integrated, the CU240E-2 can be divided into six models:
CU240E-2 (RS485 interface);
CU240E-2F (RS485 interface, integrated fail-safe function);
CU240E-2DP (Probus-DP interface);
CU240E-2DP-F (Probus-DP interface, integrated fail-safe function);
CU240E-2PN (ProfiNet interface);
CU240E-2PN-F (ProfiNet interface, integrated fail-safe function);
The definitions of the input/output terminals of different types of controllers are basically the same. The control unit with F function (fail-safe) has a fail-safe digital input (F-DI) channel.
The following table lists the definitions of common terminals for CU240E2 (RS485):

CU240E-2 has 6 digital inputs (DI), terminal numbers 5~8 are DI0~DI3; terminal numbers 16~17 are DI4~DI5, as shown below:

CU240E-2 has 2 channels of digital relay output (DO-Relay) and 1 channel of digital transistor output
Out (DO-T, the terminal number 18~20 is DO 0 (relay output); terminal 21 is DO1 (transistor output); terminal 23~25 is DO2 (relay output); as shown below:

CU240E-2 has 2 channels of analog input and 1 channel of temperature sensor input, terminal numbers 3 and 4 are analog input channel 0 (AI 0); terminal numbers 10 and 11 are analog input channel 1 (AI 1); terminal number 14, 15 are the wiring terminals of the temperature sensor; as shown below:

CU240E-2 has 2 analog outputs, terminal numbers 12 and 13 are analog output channel 0 (AO0); terminal numbers 26 and 27 are analog output channel 1 (AO1); as shown in the figure below:

For the control unit integrated with the fail-safe digital input (FDI), the original 6-channel digital input, two by two, is used as a fail-safe FDI (for example: DI4 and DI5 form FDI0). The definition of F-DI is as follows:
