product description

Optimized performance requirements to meet applications with up to 12 watts of transmission power
The application of robots using interchangeable tools requires high-speed movement and rapid rotation. Traditional solutions for drag chains or slip rings lack the necessary flexibility for this kind of automation technology. Pepperl+Fuchs' Wireless Sensing System (WIS) responds to these challenges by enabling non-contact connections where fixed connections are not possible.
The new WIS 2 series provides superior performance of up to 12 watts of transmission power. The distance of up to 7 mm between the main transmitter and the secondary transmitter provides important tolerance for axial misalignment.

Where a fixed connection is not possible, enable contactless connection: the new wireless sensor system 2
Wireless transmission of power and signal
The working principle of the wireless induction system is inductive coupling and consists of a primary transmitter and a secondary transmitter. In order to achieve the purpose of energy transfer, an induction alternating magnetic field is generated on the main transmitter side. When the secondary circuit enters the field, the transferred energy is sufficient to operate industrial sensors, such as inductive, photoelectric or capacitive sensors mounted directly on moving machine parts. The signal state of the sensor is transmitted to the main transmitter side through a separate transmission pulse, and the signal state is provided to the control system.
Possibility and flexibility for multiple applications

The WIS 2 system can connect up to 8 sensors at the same time
According to the application, for small applications, users can choose the 2-channel WIS 2 version or the extended 8-channel version. It provides 8-channel connector boxes and can operate up to 8 sensors at the same time. In order to provide better flexibility, the primary and secondary devices do not need to be paired and can be interchanged. A single 2-channel primary device can be used with multiple 2-channel secondary devices. WIS 2 has an IP67 degree of protection and a temperature range of -20°C to +55°C, enabling safe and reliable connections in harsh environments.
