Rotary encoder wiring diagram
The wiring method is shown in the figure below:
This wiring method is used when the working voltage of the sensor is different from the input voltage of the PLC, take the transistor part of the encoder, and connect it to the power supply in series to connect to the PLC in a non-voltage form. But it should be noted that the voltage of the external power supply must be below DC30V, and the switching capacity is below 35mA per phase. If the working voltage exceeds this working voltage, the encoder may be damaged.
Wiring description: The brown wire of the encoder is connected to the positive electrode of the encoder working voltage, the blue wire is connected to the negative electrode of the encoder working voltage, the output wire is connected to the input point of the PLC in turn, the blue wire is connected to the negative electrode of the external power supply, and the positive electrode of the external power supply is connected to the input of the PLC com.
2. Voltage output
The wiring method is shown in the figure below:

Wiring description: The brown wire of the encoder is connected to the positive pole of the power supply, the output wire is connected to the input point of the PLC in turn, the blue wire is connected to the negative pole of the power supply, and then a wire from the positive end of the power supply is connected to the PLC input com terminal.
3. PNP open collector output
The wiring method is shown in the figure below:

Wiring description: The brown wire of the encoder is connected to the positive electrode of the working voltage, and the blue wire is connected to the negative electrode of the working voltage. The output wire is connected to the input com terminal of the PLC in turn, and then a wire is connected from the negative terminal of the power supply to the input com terminal of the PLC.
4. Linear drive output
Wiring description: The output wire is connected to the corresponding input point of the subsequent equipment in turn, the brown wire is connected to the positive electrode of the working voltage, and the blue wire is connected to the negative electrode of the working voltage.
2. Rotary encoder wiring diagram (connect with counter, take H7CX (made by OMRON) as an example)
H7CX input signal is divided into non-voltage input and voltage input.
1. No voltage input
When inputting in no-voltage mode, only NPN output signal is accepted.
(1)The wiring mode of the encoder with NPN open collector output is shown in the figure below:

Wiring description: The brown wire is connected to the positive pole of the power supply, the blue wire is connected to the negative pole of the power supply, and then a wire is pulled from the negative end of the power supply to terminal 6; the black and white wires are connected to terminals 8 and 9, if automatic reset is required, the orange wire Connect to terminal 7.
(2)The wiring method of the encoder for NPN voltage output is shown in the figure below:

The wiring method is the same as the NPN open collector output method.
