Encoder installation method
The installation method of each product is different, so it is difficult to provide information on all installation methods. Follow the installation guidelines below and carefully install the product in combination with the corresponding installation specifications to ensure the long-term operation of the product.
Advantages and disadvantages of various forms such as auxiliary mechanical device installation
High-speed end installation: installed on the shaft end of the power motor (or gear connection). This method has the advantage of high resolution. Since the multi-turn encoder has 4096 turns, the number of motor rotations is within this range, which can be fully used to increase the range. Resolution, the disadvantage is that after the moving object passes through the reduction gear, there is a gear gap error in the back and forth stroke. It is generally used for one-way high-precision control and positioning, such as roll gap control for steel rolling. In addition, the encoder is directly installed on the high-speed end, and the motor jitter must be small, otherwise the encoder may be easily damaged.
Installation at the low speed end: installed after the reduction gear, such as the shaft end of the winding wire rope drum or the shaft end of the last reduction gear, this method has no gear back and forth clearance, the measurement is more direct, and the accuracy is higher. This method generally measures the length Distance positioning, such as various lifting equipment, feeding trolley positioning, etc.

Commonly used gears and racks, chain belts, friction runners, rope winding machinery, etc.

The rotary encoder is a photoelectric rotary measuring device, which directly converts the measured angular displacement into a digital signal (high-speed pulse signal).
Encoders can be divided into incremental encoders and absolute encoders based on signal principle.
What we usually use is an incremental encoder, which can directly input the output pulse signal of the rotary encoder to the PLC, and use the high-speed counter of the PLC to count the pulse signal to obtain the measurement result. Different types of rotary encoders have different phases of output pulses. Some rotary encoders output A, B, and Z three-phase pulses, some only have A and B phases, and the simplest is only A phase.
The encoder has 5 leads, of which 3 are pulse output lines, 1 is the COM terminal line, and 1 is the power line (OC gate output type). The power supply of the encoder can be an external power supply, or directly use the DC24V power supply of the PLC. The "-" terminal of the power supply should be connected to the COM terminal of the encoder, and the "+" terminal should be connected to the power supply terminal of the encoder. The COM terminal of the encoder is connected to the PLC input COM terminal. The A, B, and Z phase pulse output lines are directly connected to the input terminal of the PLC. A and B are pulses with a difference of 90 degrees. The Z-phase signal can only be rotated once the encoder is rotated. A pulse is usually used as the basis for the zero point. Pay attention to the response time of the PLC input when connecting. The rotary encoder also has a shielded wire, which should be grounded when using it to improve anti-interference.
